Beach life

With this number of unbelievable beaches on offer, you can afford to be choosey.

We all know that everyone is different. Some like the hard to get to ‘treasure at the end of the hunt’ beach, some prefer a classy cove, others may opt for the family beach with facilities or maybe the parasol-strewn sociable stretch - while others only need to know that there is sand and sun and they will be happy.

When it comes to its beaches, for its relatively small size Mallorca punches well above its weight and for many is regarded as having some of the best beaches in all of Spain. However it doesn’t stop there. Because of its vast and varied coastline Mallorca serves up a great array of beach in a variety of settings; natural parks and forestry, rolling dunes, lunar salt flats, rural tranquillity, urban sanctuaries and marine havens. The list goes on and is as colourful as it is long.

With this kind of diversity of beach environment it enables you to not only take a break from the sun block and sand but allows you an opportunity to explore and may be find that ‘little something’ off the beaten track that can make all the difference to a holiday. It can also be a welcome addition to your list of things to do when younger family members are becoming tired or bored which in turn allows for a window for one of you to have a little alone time ‘sin niños’.

One thing is for certain, on Mallorca there is a beach for everyone.

Ciudad Jardin Beach

Around five kilometres to the east of Palma lies the small resort town of Ciudad Jardin.  The main beach has sun loungers and parasols to rent, showers and toilets, with good access for disabled visitors, as well as lifeguards. There is a great contrast between the calm of the sands and the energies of the vibrant life away from the beach with playgrounds, not to mention the funky bars and wonderful selection of restaurants especially as you get closer to Portixol.
